At the Livingseeds Hatchery we love being able to keep so many incredible breeds! The diversity in colours, sizes and personalities has us gushing over chickens on a daily basis! Through our love of different breeds we are able to help conserve birds that are critical or threatened on endangered lists.
We are so excited to be able to share our passion with you and help you find your love for feathered friends in the process.
Our dream is to help you find great quality birds, at good prices, for the perfect backyard flock.
Unique breeds are often over-looked for hens with better egg production. Because of this they tend to find themselves on endangered or watch lists with their numbers rapidly declining.
Our focus is to provide rare and threatened breeds that need conservation. At the same time we want to supply birds that provide good eggs, have fun personalities, looks and colours.
While we do keep some birds with incredible egg production, we encourage you to look at fun and unique additions to your flock. Not only will you be helping to conserve a heritage breed, you will be greatly rewarded with all of their added quirks; different coloured eggs, feathered feet, silly hairdos and more!
We are so happy to be able to provide fertile eggs, day old to 17 week old chicks as well as point of lay birds! No matter how you want to start your chicken keeping journey we have you covered!
If you are adding to your flock we would love to help with fertile eggs for a broody hen or advise on the best way to add new birds, from the friendliest breeds to the best time to do so.
